SPARKLING return with new single ‘Say Goodbye to the Ragged Tiger’

Sparkling return with their latest single 'Say Goodbye to the Ragged Tiger', a song you won't want to miss.

Straight from Copenhagen’s vibrant music scene, Sparkling are ones you can’t miss.

A song about letting go of old demons – and most of all a song about the knots and beauty of life, their new single ‘Say Goodbye to the Ragged Tiger’ demonstrates exactly what the alternative pop duo are about in preparation for their upcoming album.

From the opening electronic bass hook, moving on to the powerful chorus, and ending with the mesmerising new wave ending, Sparkling emphasise their ability to write catchy and mature pop tunes set in a cool and powerful production.

The musical foundation is electronic. Others may hunt tightness and efficiency – but they insist on exploring the human aspect of synths and machines. Consequently, most of the parts are played by hand and re-amped in the studio to create maximum depth and to bridge naturally to both the vocal and the additional instrumentation. It all merges together well to create the unique, melodic sound Sparkling have established for themselves over the years.

It also sets the scene for their forthcoming album ‘Felonious’ (set to be released in 2019). The album itself will feature musical contributions from some of Copenhagen’s greatest artists, including jazz saxophonist Jesper Løvdal, guitarists Anders Mathiasen and David Rosenkilde, pianist Steen Rasmussen, and Benjamin Vinding on berimbau, alongside guitarist Oliver Hoiness and one of the most sought after bass-players in Denmark, Peter Buch, both who already feature on ‘SGTTRT’.

Sparkling themselves already have an impressive history, having toured intensively in Denmark (including SPOT and Skanderborg Festivals), been artist of the week on Hitquarters.com, and collaborated with producer/remixer Dave ‘Rave’ Ogilvie (Bowie, N:I:N…). They have also teamed up with renowned film festival CPH:PIX whilst working on the album the last couple of years who has used excerpts from the duo’s cinematic pop music in the festival trailers screening in movie theaters all over Copenhagen.

They have set their path well, proving to be a good face of the lively Copenhagen music scene.
